Gotham FC Off-Season Roster Preview: Key Dates and Player Contracts
The NWSL offseason is underway, and Gotham FC is navigating the landscape of player contracts and roster decisions. With key deadlines approaching, let's take a look at the important dates and the status of players whose contracts are expiring.
Important to note that there is no college draft or expansion draft this season. If Boston wants one of Gotham’s players in a contract they have to trade for them.
Key Off-Season NWSL Roster Deadlines:
Trade window opens: Monday, November 25, 2024
Trade window closes: Monday, December 9, 2024
New contract terms, waived players, and exercised options deadline: Tuesday, December 10, 2024
Waiver wire begins: Wednesday, December 11, 2024

3 outside free agents Gotham should take a look at:
Amira Ali: a player that fits the Gotham mold. A player that can play outside or centrally in a front three. Can also create magic by taking on players 1v1. Has somewhat underperformed in a underperforming team. But could have a Ella Stevens ascendance in the right system. Also local product from Vorhees, NJ and played collegiately at Rutgers.
Tatum Milazzo: Gotham could lose Sam Hiatt, Mandy Freeman, and possibly Maitane Lopez in free agency. Leaving Gotham very thin at the back line. Milazzo, like Stevens could make the move from Chicago and raise their profile. Can play centrally or at the outside back positions.
Maya Doms: Maya is a talented midfielder out of Stanford who never got going at Bay who didn't rotate a lot in the midfield. An ankle injury led to get slow start. At Gotham, she would get minutes to develop and hopefully the youth national team player can get back on track.
